Right before Christmas, I met photographer Jean Malek (whose work  I’ve admired for quite some time). We started talking and he told me about how he felt like he hadn’t done anything truly creative in a long time and how he knew he should do something about it. Me being myself - I couldn’t help but bluntly tell him to stop moaning and act on it! ;) His goal was to make something visually stunning -yes- but mostly to create something memorable, to build images to which people would respond emotionally and I couldn’t agree more. It sounded so refreshing to work on something else than fashion!He had this idea to do a serie that would feature different pictures evolving around a single theme. He knew that the theme needed to be vast enough to let us explore different feelings, characters and environments. That’s how he came up with Untold Stories.Untold Stories is all about about things that people choose to keep hidden like shame, perversion, grief, intimacy, discomfort, illness, doubt, paranoia, fear…Once he found the story for the first picture, we started looking for the perfect location, for the perfect casting and then for the perfect team to build it with. It took two weeks and we had it all. Last Sunday’s shoot went perfect.Thank you so much to everybody who worked on this!We felt absolutely blessed because everybody jumped right in with an amazing interest in the project and a total confidence in Jean and his ability to bring the picture to the next level. The serie is off to a G-R-E-A-T start!I’m currently seeing the picture evolving in post production and It’s killing me… I can’t wait to share it with you!
